A Stylish Evolution of a Trusted Classic

The Hero HF Deluxe has long been a favorite for its reliability, affordability, and impressive mileage, catering to daily commuters and small business owners across urban and rural India. The Pro i3S variant builds on this legacy with subtle yet impactful updates. Sporting a sleek new design with sharp body graphics and chrome highlights, the motorcycle exudes a premium vibe while retaining its utilitarian charm. Available in four vibrant color options—Red, Blue, Grey, and Green—the bike appeals to a younger demographic seeking both style and substance.

A standout feature is the segment-first LED headlamp, which enhances visibility during night rides and adds a modern touch to the commuter bike. The Horizon Console, a new digital speedometer with a low fuel indicator, provides clear, real-time information, making it easier for riders to stay informed on the go. These upgrades, combined with Hero’s patented i3S (Idle Stop-Start System) technology, position the HF Deluxe Pro i3S as a forward-thinking choice in a competitive segment.

Efficiency Meets Performance

At the heart of the HF Deluxe Pro i3S is the trusted 97.2cc, air-cooled, single-cylinder, BS6 Phase 2B-compliant engine, delivering 7.9 bhp at 8,000 rpm and 8.05 Nm of torque at 6,000 rpm. Paired with a four-speed gearbox, this engine offers smooth performance for city commutes and semi-rural roads. The inclusion of xSENS FI Technology with 10 sensors optimizes the air-fuel mixture in real-time, ensuring instant pick-up and enhanced fuel efficiency.

The i3S technology, a hallmark of Hero’s commuter bikes, automatically shuts off the engine during idle conditions (when in neutral) and restarts it with a pull of the clutch, saving up to 9% more fuel compared to standard models. User-reported mileage ranges from 60-70 kmpl, with some tests claiming up to 88.5 kmpl under ideal conditions, making it one of the most frugal bikes in its class. The 9.6-liter fuel tank ensures a range of over 500 km, perfect for long-distance commuters.

Designed for Comfort and Safety

The HF Deluxe Pro i3S retains its tubular double cradle frame, offering a lightweight yet sturdy build with a kerb weight of 112 kg. The suspension setup includes telescopic hydraulic shock absorbers at the front and dual shock absorbers with two-step adjustability at the rear, ensuring a comfortable ride across varied terrains. Braking is handled by 130 mm drum brakes at both ends, supported by Hero’s Integrated Braking System (IBS) for enhanced safety.

Additional safety features include a side stand engine cut-off, which prevents the engine from running when the side stand is engaged, and an engine cut-off at fall mechanism to minimize damage and fuel spillage during accidents. The bike rides on 18-inch alloy wheels with low-rolling-resistance tires, improving fuel efficiency and handling. An optional USB charging port adds convenience for riders needing to keep their devices powered during long rides.

Why It’s a Game-Changer

Priced at ₹73,550, the HF Deluxe Pro i3S sits above the standard i3S variant (₹70,226) and offers significant value with its premium features. It competes fiercely with rivals like the Honda Shine 100, TVS Sport, Bajaj Platina 100, and TVS Radeon, but stands out with its LED headlamp, digital console, and superior fuel efficiency. The bike’s five-year warranty and five free services further enhance its appeal, ensuring low maintenance costs and peace of mind.

Hero’s extensive service network and easy availability of spare parts make the HF Deluxe Pro i3S a practical choice for first-time buyers, daily workers, and small business owners. However, some users have noted that the lack of a front disc brake and the basic design may feel dated compared to sportier competitors like the TVS Raider. Despite these minor drawbacks, the bike’s affordability, reliability, and fuel efficiency make it a top contender in the entry-level segment.

A Commuter Bike for the Modern Rider

The Hero HF Deluxe Pro i3S is more than just an incremental update—it’s a thoughtful evolution of a beloved commuter bike. By blending modern features like an LED headlamp and digital console with Hero’s signature reliability and fuel efficiency, this motorcycle caters to the needs of today’s riders without breaking the bank. Whether you’re navigating city traffic or cruising through rural roads, the HF Deluxe Pro i3S promises a dependable, economical, and stylish ride.
