So, The Samsung Galaxy Z Fold7 is Out... And It's Dangerously Close to Perfect (2)

For years, the story of foldable phones has been one of compromise. “It’s amazing, but the crease…” or “I love the big screen, but it’s so thick and heavy.” Well, it feels like Samsung just took a massive eraser to that list of buts. The Galaxy Z Fold7 is here, and having spent some time with it, the best way to describe it is… normal. And for a foldable, that’s the highest compliment possible.

This is the year it feels like the foldable concept has finally graduated from a cool tech demo to a legitimate, no-excuses flagship phone. The first thing you’ll notice when you pick it up isn’t the fold, but the lack of heft. It’s shockingly thin and, at 215 grams, it’s actually lighter than an iPhone 16 Pro Max or even Samsung’s own S25 Ultra. It’s a huge deal and completely changes how you think about carrying it around.

The other massive, “finally!” moment comes when you use the cover screen. Gone is the weirdly tall and narrow display of old. The Z Fold7 has a proper, wide 6.5-inch screen that feels just like a regular high-end smartphone. You can actually type on it comfortably and use all your apps without feeling cramped. It’s a game-changer for usability, meaning you only need to unfold when you want to, not because you have to.

So The Samsung Galaxy Z Fold7 is Out. And Its Dangerously Close to Perfect 1

Of course, the main event is still that glorious 8-inch tablet display on the inside. The crease? It’s still there if you go hunting for it, but the new hinge design has made it so faint, it practically disappears from view during normal use. Watching videos or multitasking on this thing is still an experience no regular phone can match.

And then there’s the camera. For the first time, Samsung has stopped treating the Fold’s camera like an afterthought. It’s inherited the powerhouse 200MP main sensor from the S25 Ultra, and the results speak for themselves. The photos are crisp, detailed, and finally feel worthy of a phone this expensive.

The Under-Display King is Coming: Nubia Z70 Ultra Set to Shake Up India’s Flagship Market
Alright, let’s talk about the Nubia Z70 Ultra. If you’re hunting for a phone that delivers premium vibes without draining your wallet, this one’s worth a look. Launched in November 2024, the Z70 Ultra is ZTE’s latest attempt to shake up the smartphone game, and it’s got some serious tricks up its sleeve.

Is it absolutely perfect? Not quite. The battery is still the same 4,400mAh size, which feels a bit small for a device with two massive screens, and some early reports are keeping an eye on the new hinge’s long-term durability. And, in a controversial move to achieve that slim profile, Samsung has ditched the integrated S Pen. That will be a dealbreaker for some, but for many, the trade-off for a device that feels this good in the hand will be well worth it.

The Z Fold7 is the first foldable that doesn’t feel like a compromise. It feels like the future, finally realized.
