Manama, January 31, 2026 – What started as a gritty Arabic hip-hop track from Bahrain has turned into a global phenomenon, propelling rapper Flipperachi straight into the Guinness World Records – all thanks to a killer entry scene in the new Ranveer Singh starrer Dhurandhar.
The song in question, “Fa9la” (pronounced “Faasla,” meaning distance or gap in Arabic), was originally dropped back in 2024 by Flipperachi, real name Feras Ibrahim, alongside collaborator Daffy and producer DJ Outlaw. But it wasn’t until director Aditya Dhar slotted it into Akshaye Khanna’s swaggering introduction as the fierce Rehman Dakait that the track truly caught fire.
Khanna’s unexpected groove – complete with that now-iconic walk and impromptu moves – hit social media like a storm shortly after Dhurandhar’s December release, turning “Fa9la” into an overnight viral sensation across India and beyond. Reels, memes, and dance challenges flooded platforms, pushing the song to unprecedented heights on the Billboard Arabia charts.
On Saturday, Guinness World Records officially recognised the achievement: “Fa9la” now holds the title for the most Billboard Arabia charts topped at number one by a single song. Flipperachi was caught off guard with the news during a routine photoshoot, where representatives surprised the for the record were presented to him on the spot.
“It feels absolutely amazing – I couldn’t believe it at first,” Flipperachi told reporters afterwards, still beaming from the surprise. “This track was something we made from the heart in Bahrain, and seeing it connect with millions through a Bollywood film… it’s like a dream. Huge respect to the Dhurandhar team for giving it that platform.”
The crossover success highlights a growing blend of regional sounds in Indian cinema, where international tracks are increasingly adding edge to big-action sequences. Industry watchers say the viral boost from Khanna’s scene – often hailed as one of the film’s standout moments – played a pivotal role in catapulting “Fa9la” back to the top in the Arab world, where it dominated multiple charts simultaneously.
Flipperachi, a longtime figure in Bahrain’s hip-hop scene known for blending Arabic flows with global beats, isn’t stopping there. He’s gearing up for his first major India tour, kicking off in Bengaluru on March 14, with more dates expected across the country. Fans are already buzzing about live performances of the record-breaking hit.
As Dhurandhar continues to pack theatres and spark online frenzy, Flipperachi’s story serves as a reminder of how one perfectly timed cinematic moment can rewrite an artist’s trajectory. From Bahrain’s streets to Bollywood’s big screen and now the record books – not a bad way to start the year.
The rapper’s team says more music is in the pipeline, hinting at potential collaborations inspired by this unlikely triumph. For now, “Fa9la” keeps spinning, proving distance is no barrier when the beat hits just right.
