However, for the first generation iPhone, this price is said to be the highest ever. Earlier in October last year, someone had bought an iPhone for Rs 32 lakh. Now this record has also been broken. Auctioning website LCG Auction said that the bid for the sealed first generation iPhone was $ 63,356.40. Converting this to Indian currency, it is approximately 52 lakh rupees.

As per the website, the item was up for bid in the 2023 Winter Premier Auction which started from 2nd February till 19th February. In the description of the phone, the original owner Karen Green has mentioned that he is selling the iconic factory sealed first released iPhone in great condition. Business Insider reports that Karen Green is a cosmetic tattoo artist who lives in New Jersey. He got the iPhone as a gift. However, he had to do with the telecom company Verizon, which was not available for the iPhone at that time. Because of this, he did not open the iPhone and now decided to go and sell it. He took this decision after meeting LCG Auctions, about which he was told that the first generation iPhone has been sold for up to $40,000. Its auction started at $2500 and now someone bought it for more than $50,000.
