On June 2, 2024, at the Bethesda North Marriott Hotel & Conference Center, Bailey Anne Kennedy was crowned Miss Maryland USA for the year 2024. From Silver Spring, Maryland, she was the first person born male and now identifying as female to be awarded that title within Maryland’s history
Bailey is a 25-year old University of Maryland alumnus who majored in public health. During the competition, the judges were impressed by her brilliance, confidence and charisma demonstrating thus that throughout the competition, she stood above all other contestants. She has been involved in many projects to help raise awareness about mental health problems around the globe, working tirelessly to ensure success in all she undertakes. Emphasizing the value of loving oneself regardless of stage in life, her platform is referred to as “Beauty Without an Expiration Date”.
Bailey is going to represent Maryland in the Miss USA 2024 pageant which will be held in Hollywood, California later this year. Winning is viewed as a fundamental progress towards inclusivity and representation in beauty pageants.
